We’ve noticed an increase in syringes and insulin pens in our recycling stream, but please remember: these items are NOT accepted in your curbside recycling bins. When recyclables arrive at the Material Recovery Facility, they go through a sorting process where contaminants are manually removed by workers. Sharps like syringes and insulin pens pose a serious risk to the staff.
