Food Waste Recycling:
How Does It Work?
Place your food waste in the designated container provided
to you by Momentum Recycling (multiple size options, for home and business).
Using specially designed trucks, we transport your food waste to
the Wasatch Resource Recovery facility in North Salt Lake to be processed.
Biogas is captured & purified before it is converted into renewable natural gas
and fed into the municipal gas pipeline, which then will
supply gas for approximately 40,000 people!
The remaining byproduct is a nutrient-rich, carbon-based fertilizer
used to help local farms grow crops.
